ONE:DREMAS OF GOLD on Friday, 16 August will pit four World Champions against one another in the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix semifinal.

The quarterfinals have shown us that anything can happen when top-class strikers trade leather, and every matchup in the Grand Prix so far has unraveled some of the best martial arts action of the year.

The semifinals will see a clash of France versus Russia as Samy “AK47” Sana takes on “Genghis Khan” Dzhabar Askerov while Italy’s Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan goes head-to-head with Thailand’s “Smokin” Jo Nattawut.

By the looks of it, martial arts fans across the world are in for a treat, and in case you’ve never heard of them, here’s your chance to get to know the 4 semifinalists of the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix.

#1 Giorgio Petrosyan

Multiple-time World Champion Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan needs no introduction when it comes to his legacy.  The Milan native has been setting the world on fire with his impressive victories since he turned professional in 2003.

“The Doctor” has accumulated quite a record – his most recent win over Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy at ONE: MASTERS OF DESTINY in Kuala Lumpur in July extending it to an astonishing 94-2-2.

With a blueprint for surgical precision, Petrosyan may not have any issues if he can reproduce his fight plan against Nattawut when the pair clashed in April 2018.

#2 Jo Nattawut

“Smokin” Jo Nattawut wants to achieve his dream of lifting a ONE World Title, and he is confident in his ability to flip the script against his Italian counterpart at ONE: DREAMS OF GOLD.

Well known for igniting the ring with his highly aggressive style, the Bangkok Boxing representative can turn up the heat for his opponents, having ended a thrilling contest against Sasha Moisa back at ONE: ENTER THE DRAGON via a third-round knockout.

Can Nattawut add Petrosyan’s prestigious name to his list of victories come 16 August?

#3 Samy Sana

Frenchman Samy “AK47” Sana produced the biggest upset of the Grand Prix so far as he emerged victorious against a living legend “The Hero” Yodsanklai Iwe Fairtex in Singapore.

Equipped with exceptional height and reach for his weight class, this power-packed athlete has an outstanding 133-8 record which spans over nine years.

Having switched his style in his last bout against the Thailand martial arts icon which revolved around manipulating his rhythm and upping the tempo, “AK47” is confident that he can take out anyone he faces should he advance to the final.

#4 Dzhabar Askerov

Coming from Dagestan, Russia “Genghis Khan” Dzhabar Askerov is one of the finest strikers at The Home of Martial Arts.

The 33-year-old became the first kickboxer to progress to the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix semifinal breathtakingly at the expense of Germany’s Enriko “The Hurricane” Kehl.

Askerov is armed with powerful hook combinations and spinning attacks apart from his style of high-volume combinations. His unorthodox style should be enough to dismantle the French machine “AK47”.
