American Muay Thai sensation Janet “JT” Todd believes she has what it takes to down two-sport ONE World Champion Stamp Fairtex in the main event of ONE: KING OF THE JUNGLE next Friday, 28 February, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The showdown for Stamp’s ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Title will be the pair’s second clash. They first met almost a year ago to the day at the same venue, and at that time it was Stamp who walked away the ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion.

It was a result that bothered “JT,” but she did what she had to do to fix her flaws.

“I realized the first couple of rounds, I wasn’t as confident in myself. It looked like I was hesitating when I was throwing,” she said.

“It was in the fifth round when I felt like I was throwing with much more intention and much more confidence. That’s what I want to go into this fight with, but in round one rather than round five.”

Todd showed her more aggressive approach while picking up three consecutive wins in the Circle. She knocked out Chinese kickboxer Wang Chin Long in the second round at ONE: WARRIORS OF LIGHT in May 2019, then she earned a majority decision win over “Killer Bee” Chuang Kai Ting at ONE: MASTERS OF DESTINY in July.

In October of the same year, at ONE: CENTURY PART I, she knocked out Belarusian striker Ekaterina “Barbie” Vandaryeva with a highlight-reel head kick.

Those wins showed the world she deserved another World Title shot, and four months later, her chance has arrived at The Home Of Martial Arts.

Todd has been waiting for this moment and is confident that her skillset can power her to a win over the multiple-time World Champion inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

“I have been working hard on my kicking game. Stamp also kicks, too, but I feel like I have the setup and the timing to be able to land those kicks,” the 34-year-old said.

“I want to use my footwork and use my fight IQ to get her into compromised positions to be able to score. I’m hoping that they see a smarter fighter.

“I hope the fans see someone who is smarter in the game now.”
