Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB) is sponsoring 14-year old Johorean swimmer Tan Rouxin, who will be competing in the upcoming SUKMA 2020 from 11th to 19th July 2020. The sponsorship includes the cost of intensive training sessions as well as the related training costs estimated in total at RM15,000.
Tan Rouxin who has achieved numerous awards in swimming including The Most Promising Athlete of the Year Award by Ministry of Education and MSSM Milo Sports Awards 2018 has been training intensively for the past six years at the Aquatic Centre, EduCity Sports Complex (ESC) which is developed by EduCity, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Iskandar Investment Berhad.
IIB President/ Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Ir. Khairil Anwar Ahmad said that the sponsorship was granted to boost Rouxin’s motivation to achieve greater success for Johor and Malaysia.
“As a catalyst of change, IIB has always been a firm believer of ensuring inclusive growth for local Johoreans. We believe such support will enable local talents to participate in a structured sports development programme to achieve their optimum performance. The facilities at the Aquatic Centre which is designed in compliance with International Swimming Federation standards includes an Olympic-sized swimming pool, as well as touch pads, electronic scoreboard, a warmup pool is the perfect training ground for future swimming champions.
Rouxin, through her training at ESC, has proven her passion and dedication and as such, IIB is very pleased to support her road to victory and we wish her the very best for SUKMA 2020 and beyond.”
