ONE: IMMORTAL TRIUMPH is the promotion’s first venture into Vietnam. Not to mention, this blockbuster event is the first-ever ONE Championship card to have nothing but jaw-dropping kickboxing and Muay Thai action.
The card at Ho Chi Minh City is filled to the brim with world-class striking athletes in match-ups that promise unmissable and adrenaline-pumping entertainment. In the main event, Thailand Muay Thai superstar, Nong-O Gaiyanghadaofaces Algeria’s Brice “The Truck” Delval for the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title.
No doubt all eyes will be on the main card. However, beyond these two showstoppers, the undercard is packed with bouts that could steal the spotlight. Here are three match-ups that could punch their way into the highlight reels on Friday, 6 September.
#1 Beybulat Isaev Vs. Anderson Silva
Beybulat Isaev and Anderson “Braddock” Silva will swap heavy leather in a light heavyweight kickboxing duel. These two goliaths equipped with elite striking skills should set the tempo of the night at an all-time high. With preparations for his match fashioned in Dagestan, Russia, Isaev is sure that his experience and game plan will grant him the upper hand.
However, “Braddock” owns extreme knockout power as seen in his debut victory over Andre Meunier back in April.
It is tough to say who holds the advantage in this bout, but expect it to be a thriller.
#2 Mongkolpetch Petchyindee Academy vs. Joseph Lasiri
Petchyindee Academy’s latest addition, Mongkolpetch, goes toe-to-toe with Italian striking sensation Joseph “The Hurricane” Lasiri in a flyweight Muay Thai battle.
The Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion has shown time after time what his power and aggressive style can achieve. Mongkolpetch is a muay khao. That means this Thai warrior uses his knee and elbow strikes to close the distance and enter the clinch.
Lasiri, on the other hand, knows how to put his Muay Thai arsenal to good use. He used accurate punches coupled with lung-spiking knees to snatch the WBC Super Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion. Because both athletes have tremendous knee strikes and love forward pressure, it will be a race between the two to get inside each other’s pockets and end the bout.
#3 Amber Kitchen vs. Viktoria Lipianska
Raised by a WBC Welterweight World Champion, Amber “AK47” Kitchen has a lot resting on her shoulders. This United Kingdom representative makes her ONE Super Series debut against Viktoria Lipianska at the Phu Tho Indoor Stadium this Friday.
Lipianska has to not only deal with Kitchen’s heavy punches and kicks, but also her range and timing. In contrast, the Slovakian martial artist seems to be a good counter-striker who exhibits a patient style.
The Hanuman Gym Bratislava and T.F.C. Bratislava standout will not let anything get in her way of success, and martial arts lovers watching will be in for a fast-paced and highly-contested exchange.
